Ms. Mac sings her heart out.

Welcome to Dear Tologs, a place where faculty, staff and students can share their thoughts with the school community. What shows have you been watching? How are you spending your time? Have you had any deep, introspective revelations while in isolation? We want to know! You can send your submissions to Mr. Dibblee (tdibblee@fsha.org).

Dear Tologs,

Today is March 26 and at 7:30 p.m., the curtain should have gone up on our unique version of “Mary Poppins” in the lounge of the Admin Building. Sadly, we are all safer at home and unable to perform or welcome our audience.

BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON! So, I am challenging every cast and crew member, every FSH community member to join me at 7:30 p.m. I will be opening my window and singing my favorite songs from the show out my kitchen window. I am hoping you will do the same. You may know an entire song. You may only know a few bars of the music to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” or “Spoonful of Sugar” or “Chim Chim Cheree.” That’s okay. What matters is that somewhere in LA County, our windows are thrown open and the night air is filled with the glorious songs of “Mary Poppins the Musical.” Get someone to record you and upload it to me. [Ms. Mac, please send these recordings to the Veritas Shield so that we can post them. — ed.] I think we all need to smile and laugh. (And Italy shouldn’t be the only country singing through this crisis!)

To the cast and crew, I know that this is a difficult day, but there is nothing that heals the heart like music. By all means, SING! Dress up! Celebrate your talent and your dedication and your devotion. I will be doing the same. I am holding you in my heart and reveling in the knowledge that we are all united by our Ubuntu mantra. I am because you are.

Much love,

Mac
