The film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical “Wicked,” starring Grammy winner Ariana Grande and Tony winner Cynthia Erivo, was released in theaters on November 22. The movie has been a hot topic all over social media and among many Tologs.
Grace Fuller ‘26 went this past weekend with her friends.
“It was very inspiring and a new look on an old story,” said Grace.
Ava Nawrocki ‘25 went with her cousins and sister. She described the film as impactful and informative. “The movie is based on a more political outlook because the animals of the film were turned away from society and Elphaba wanted to stand up for them,” she said.
“It was so inspiring learning how to use our voices to impact the world in a positive way,” said Ava.
Overall, the film is an absolute hit, making over $395.3 million since the release day. The message of upholding morals and friendship will likely leave an impact on viewers from all around the world, just as it has for Grace and Ava.
For our Tologs, friendship is a key to our community.
“I am so blessed that every day I am able to wake up and feel excited to go to school surrounded by such amazing people,” Reni Martinez ’25 said.
“After watching Wicked and learning about morals, I realized that I am so lucky to be able to go to school at FSHA because of the bond we all have with each other. I feel confident when I am able to learn and grow up in such a great community” said Reni.
