As the college application season comes to a close, senior Tologs have applied to a wide variety of schools across the country. While every senior considers many different factors when deciding which schools to apply to, such as academics, location, and class sizes, something that many students feel shapes the college experience is football.
“I’m not going to a school without a football team,” said Emma Gordo ‘25.
Many other seniors at FSHA share this opinion and are applying mainly to schools with a Division I football program.
“It’s important to me because of school spirit,” said Emma.
Being able to attend football games as a college student is important to many Tologs because of the atmosphere created in student sections and tailgates where students cheer on their schools.
“I want to go somewhere that has good football culture because I think it’s a great way to meet new people in college and build school spirit,” said Grace Garrity ‘25.
Many seniors are looking for more than just a school to attend for the next four years—they want a community. With energetic student sections and unique traditions, college football is more than just a sport; it is a unique opportunity for college students to create memories and bond with their peers.
